Many canines died as a result to the contamination of the Diamond dog food. The Diamond cat food was also recalled because it also has a presence on it, however, there has been no report of deaths or illness among the felines.
The United States Food and Drug Administration of the United States Department of Health and Human Services then released an information campaign regarding the symptoms of aflatoxin poisoning. The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) urge dog owners who gave their dog Diamond dog food to be wary of the following symptoms:

However, a lot of recorded deaths among canines were caused by the contamination of the Diamond dog food.
The Diamond Pet Food considered the contamination of the Diamond dog food as an isolated and rare case because it was the first ever food recall of the products of the Diamond Pet Food since it started its operation.
