How to Play the Thai Lottery

หวยอาม่าให้ลาภ is drawn twice a month. It is one of only two forms of gambling that is legal in the country. The winners are randomly selected, and are usually a mix of Thai nationals, expatriates, and foreigners. The Government Lottery Office manages the game and draws the winning numbers twice a month.

While the lottery’s revenue is split into several different sectors, about 60% goes into prize money. Twenty percent goes to the Thai treasury, while the rest goes to street vendors. At each draw, one guest will randomly select a ball, which will start a machine. If the ball falls in the winning compartment, the guest will receive a check for a certain amount.

The Thailand Lottery draws its results on the first and sixteenth days of every month. If you’ve won the lottery, the results will be released before 3 PM. In some cases, it can take some time for the results to be released. If you want to check your results as soon as possible, check out the Thailand Lottery’s official website.

Thai lottery winners must claim their prize within two years of the draw date. They will also have to pay a 0.5% tax on the prize. However, if their tickets cost less than 20,000 baht, they can claim their prize in cash. For those who bought tickets for less than twenty baht, they can collect their prize from a local agent.

The tickets are sold in pairs. If you buy two tickets, you can get the second prize for three million baht. For each pair, you can claim a prize of up to six million baht. This makes playing the lottery a more lucrative option because you have a higher chance of winning big prizes.

The tickets contain six-digit numbers and are printed on special yellow paper. The paper is coated with a two-tone watermark of Wayupak, a Thai government organization. The watermark is made of two types of silk thread, one that can be seen with the naked eye, and the other one that is only visible under ultraviolet light. Because the tickets are coated with chemicals, bleach can stain them.

อาม่าให้ลาภ sells tickets to national wholesalers and retail agents. In addition, lottery vendors sell them on the streets and in markets. These vendors carry their trademark slim wooden ticket briefcases. Those selling tickets outside shops and markets usually sell them in pairs. Each ticket costs 40 baht.

The GLO head office is located in the city of Nonthaburi and is open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3pm. The office is closed on public holidays.
